Role Purpose

A top-tier international law firm is looking to hire an Associate/Senior Associate with experience in Intellectual Property matters with 4+ PQE to form part of the broader MENA IP/TMT Group. A top-tier international law firm is looking to hire an Associate/Senior Associate with experience in Intellectual Property matters with 4+ PQE

Reporting to highly regarded senior partners at the firm who are based in Johannesburg and Dubai, you will form part of the broader MENA IP/TMT Group which handles the specialist areas of IP and Technology, Media & Telecoms as well as general commercial matters.

Requirements:

• A PQE level of 4 to 7 years post qualification experience;
• A strong academic background, training and experience gained with a well-recognised international or regional top tier firm;
• A genuine interest in developing their career with the leading IP practice in the Middle East;
• Strong IP advisory and skills drafting IP agreements with a keen attention to detail;
• Experience in carrying out detailed and methodical legal research using available resources;
• Experience of liaising with and co-ordinating advice from foreign correspondent counsel in the Middle East would be an advantage;
• Confidence and initiative with a keenness to assume responsibility, work independently and take a pro-active and commercial approach to solving issues;
• Strong interpersonal skills and an interest in business development;
• Clear and demonstrable commitment to developing your career
• Experience in drafting pitches and proposal documents for legal services;
• Experience in the preparation of legal training material and/or delivery of training seminars for internal and external audiences
