Senior Business Analyst at Lulalend

• Lula is hiring a Senior Business Analyst to provide deep analytical leadership across our product initiatives. In this role, you will ensure complex business problems are translated into scalable, high-quality product solutions while improving Lula’s analytical standards, documentation practices, and product discovery capabilities. Working across multiple product squads, you will also mentor Business Analysts to improve analytical quality and delivery impact.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Discovery & Analysis

• Partner with PMs/POs to understand strategic goals, define success metrics, and prioritise high-impact problems.
• Analyse current systems, data, and business processes to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
• Build clear business cases and PRDs supported by data and stakeholder input.
• Translate business objectives into clear, detailed functional and non-functional requirements.
• Maintain a centralised, version-controlled repository of process maps and requirements documentation.
• Lead complex discovery initiatives across multiple teams
• Define analytical frameworks and discovery standards
• Support PMs with strategic opportunity sizing
• Mentor BAs in building business cases and PRDs

Stakeholder Alignment

• Act as a trusted liaison between Product, Engineering, Compliance, Operations, Finance, CX, Sales, and Partnerships.
• Facilitate requirement workshops, ensuring cross-functional alignment on scope and impact.
• Convey trade-offs and dependencies in clear, outcomes-focused language.
• Continuously gather feedback and reflect it in product decisions.
• Represent Product in cross-functional initiatives
• Facilitate complex stakeholder negotiations
• Communicate analytical insights to leadership

Solution Design & Validation

• Collaborate with UX/UI designers and engineers to co-create practical and valuable solutions.
• Participate in UAT planning, validation, and documentation.
• Ensure releases meet specified requirements and business objectives.
• Support post-release performance reviews to determine if expected outcomes are achieved.
• Ensure solutions scale across product areas
• Challenge solution designs to ensure business outcomes

Continuous Improvement

• Identify and document opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
• Maintain and update “as-is” and “to-be” process flows.
• Support the development of Lula’s product documentation standards and knowledge base.
• Promote data-driven product decision-making through structured insights and impact tracking.
• Define BA documentation standards
• Improve product discovery practices
• Lead knowledge sharing

Analytical Leadership

• Mentor and coach Business Analysts
• Improve the BA competency within the Product team
• Establish templates, frameworks, and best practices
• Support hiring and onboarding of new BAs
• Review critical requirements before development begins

THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Professional certification such as CBAP, CCBA, or PMI-PBA; advanced methodology certification (e.g., CSPO or SAFe Agile) is highly advantageous.
• 7–10 years of experience in business analysis, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead capacity within a product-led environment.
• Proven track record of managing end-to-end requirements for large-scale, high-complexity digital transformation projects.
• Strategic Product Discovery: Experience leading cross-team discovery initiatives to identify inefficiencies and define high-impact problem statements.
• Advanced Elicitation & Opportunity Sizing: Expertise in GAP analysis and data-driven business case development to support Product Managers.
• High-Fidelity Documentation: Mastery in drafting airtight PRDs, User Stories, and non-functional requirements to minimise engineering rework.
• Visual Modelling & Systems Thinking: Proficiency in BPMN 2.0 and UML to map complex 'as-is' and 'to-be' architectures.
• Cross-Functional Stakeholder Influence: Ability to facilitate complex negotiations across Engineering, Compliance, Finance, and Sales to achieve consensus and sign-off.
• Outcome Mapping & Validation: Skill in defining measurable success metrics (KPIs) and leading UAT to ensure solutions meet business objectives.
• Analytical Leadership & Mentorship: Experience establishing BA centres of excellence, defining documentation standards, and coaching junior analysts through peer reviews.
