Senior Clerk (Assets) at Ilembe District Municipality

Description

• To assist in ensuring that a complete, accurate and up-to date fixed asset register in maintained. This to be done in accordance with applicable GRAP standards and MFMA requirements.
• Assist in the application of accounting procedures within the Section by attending to the recording and classification; verification of assets; disposal of assets; reconciliations of the fixed assets register/ledger accounts and reporting requirements.
• Preforming the verification of movables and immovable assets.
• Assisting in the Reconciliation between verification sheets and Fixed Assets Register.
• Assisting in the Reconciliations between the General Ledger and Fixed Assets Register.
• Assisting in the scrutiny of capital and repairs/maintenance expenditure costs.
• Administration and proper filling systems is in place by clearing and neatly marketing all files and separated accordingly; this includes electronic versions of all sections documents.
• Ensuring files are kept in a safe and secured manner.
• Scheduling and co-ordination of Meetings as directed.

Requirements

• Matric 
• preferred National Diploma in Accounting or related
• Computer Literacy
• 1 - 2 Years relevant accounting experience
