Senior Controller - Durban at eThekwini Municipality

Job Purpose    

• To manage the activities which generate accurate accounts/statements to consumers of Rates, Electricity, Water and other Municipal Services.

Key Responsibility Areas    

• Supervise the activities and the work process flow of the team of staff assigned.
• Manage staff in the section/team.
• Ensure that accounts are correct and despatched timeously.
• Process or authorise adjustments at a supervisory level.
• Ensure that correspondence is replied to promptly and correctly.
• Participate in the maintenance of the computerised billing programs.
• Attend to consumer and departmental queries.
• Attend court hearings and prepare relevant documentation.
• Promote the use of credit control and monitor security of guarantees held.
• Promote the concept of continuous improvement in the work processes.

Essential Requirements    

• Diploma (NQF Level 6) or equivalent in Finance.
• Valid motor vehicle driving license.
• 3 Years relevant experience.
• Computer Literacy.

Preferred Requirements    

• 4 Years relevant experience
