Senior Data Analyst – Rosebank, Johannesburg (9 months contract) at Paracon

Accountabilities:

• Data Collection: Collecting and organizing large datasets from various sources and ensuring data quality and accuracy.
• Data Analysis: Analysing complex data sets using statistical methods to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform business decisions.
• Data Visualization: Creating visual representations of data such as charts, graphs, and dashboards to make complex information more understandable and accessible to non-technical stakeholders.
• Data Reporting: Preparing reports and presentations to communicate findings and insights to relevant stakeholders.
• Data Mining: Extracting and analysing data from various systems and sources to discover hidden patterns and trends.
• Data Modelling: Developing mathematical and statistical models to predict future trends and outcomes.
• Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process improvement and developing recommendations for improving data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Data Governance: Ensuring that data is managed and secured in accordance with established policies and regulations.
• Collaborating: Working closely with cross-functional teams including IT, business analysts, and management to ensure alignment of data analysis with business objectives
• Continuously Learning: Keeping up-to-date with new data analytics techniques and tools to enhance analysis and insights.

Functional Expertise:

• Collect, analyse and interpret complex data sets, and identify patterns and insights.
• Develop and maintain analytical dashboards, reports and visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify key metrics, define data requirements, and validate data accuracy and completeness.
• Design and execute experiments to test hypotheses and measure the effectiveness of solutions.
• Use statistical techniques to identify correlations and causal relationships in data sets.
• Continuously monitor data quality, identify data anomalies and outliers, and recommend corrective actions.
• Use data visualization tools to present insights and recommendations to business stakeholders.
• Continuously improve data collection processes, data models, and analysis methods to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Solution Development:

• Assist in the development team of end-to-end solutions for new and existing digital projects.
