This role will focus on structural design under complex loading conditions—wave, current, berthing, seismic—and will require coordination with geotechnical, coastal, and marine disciplines.

Here is what you will do:

    • Lead structural design of marine infrastructure using relevant codes (e.g. BS, Eurocode, API, PIANC)
    • Perform static and dynamic structural analysis, including wave and berthing impact loads
    • Evaluate corrosion protection, fatigue performance, and structural detailing for marine environments
    • Coordinate with geotechnical engineers on foundation design (piles, caissons, gravity structures)
    • Prepare design reports, specifications, and construction documentation
    • Support tendering, fabrication review, and site construction queries
    • Develop and implement quality assurance procedures for marine structural designs
    • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on complex marine projects
    • Collaborate with environmental specialists to ensure designs meet sustainability requirements
    • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for marine structures
    • Participate in client meetings and present technical solutions
    • Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in marine structural engineering
    • Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure compliance with local and international maritime standards
    • Develop and maintain best practice guidelines for marine structural engineering within the organisation
    • Contribute to business development activities, including proposal writing and client presentations
    • Oversee the integration of Building Information Modelling (BIM) in marine structural design projects

    Here’s what we’re looking for:

    • At least 10 years’ experience post obtaining qualification.
    • Professionally registered with ECSA as Pr.Eng. for at least 3 years.

    Qualifications

    • Degree in Civil Engineering (Structural), preferably M.Eng or MSc.Eng.
