    Senior Independence Specialist

    The individual will form part of the Independence team to assist in maintaining personal and firm independence. This includes performing independence compliance audits, independence clearance, Annual and New Joiner Declarations , functions on Declaration point (new system on Fulcrum) , some knowledge of KICS – this role covers Southern Africa as part of the Southern Africa integration process and not only South Africa.

    • Experience in RM processes would be an advantage

    Main Responsibilities

    List the tasks underpinning the responsibility

    Annual Declaration & New Joiner Declaration process for Southern Africa

    • Support the team on the annual declaration process including planning, changes and rollout to 8 countries
    • Assist with updating questionnaires and comparison with the Global questionnaires
    • Ensure complete and accurate population with the assistance of the Independence specialist, rollout of correct content of declaration on GCCS, monitor and follow up (with the assistance of the specialist) to the point of completion, handle queries from all levels of staff on the process and content
    • Support the team on the New Joiner Declaration forms with changes, comparisons etc to ensure timely completions
    • Assist with follow-up on matters completed, first review and close off
    • Assist with dashboards in terms of the declaration data

    Personal and Firm Compliance audits for Southern Africa

    • Assist with personal compliance audits for Southern Africa:
    • Select individuals according to Global guidance
    • Send invitations to the selected individuals once cleared
    • Prepare documentation regarding follow up on information submission
    • Check completeness of information submitted
    • Perform sections of compliance audits as identified and instructed. Supporting the manager
    • Prepare summary of findings
    • Assist with Firm Compliance Audits for Southern African countries
    • Assist with timing, planning and tracking of progress in terms of both projects above

    New Partner/AD process

    • Assist with background checking process for new partners and ADs, liaise with Forensic and HR (to integrate with the Compliance audit process)

    Declaration Point

    • Monitor entries made in Declaration Point on an ongoing basis, request further detail, initial clearance, send for further approval

    International Conflict Checks

    • International conflict checks - check underlying systems, feedback to Global teams

    Ad Hoc Projects

    • The individual will be required to take on, execute and complete ad-hoc projects as they arise, independently as an important part of the team

    Africa Integration

    • Assist and support the team regarding various Africa Integration projects in terms of the Independence streams affected
    • Assist with keeping track of project progress and further planning
