Senior Logistics Engineer, Road Logistics at DSV

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE 

• Responsible for designing, planning and implementing logistics solutions, whilst managing stakeholder (internal & external) expectations throughout the solution design and implementation phase. This role directly supports company objectives and contributes to identifying, analyzing & developing value-adding and robust solutions for current & prospective customers. Monthly Client Profitability Analysis, ABC Costing Model development and Maintences
• TMS Master Data validation and Maintence. Successful collaboration with Operations team & other internal stakeholders is critical.

Job-related Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Supply Chain and Logistics or Related Industry.
• Supply Chain Optimization and Planning (Benefit)
• Unendorsed license & own transport;
• Ability to travel around Gauteng, South Africa 
• Excellent written & verbal communications skills;
• Strong interpersonal skills & able to work in a collaborative & team-based environment; 
• Aptitude to multi-task & employ effective problem solving abilities;
• Detail Orientated and Analytical
• Industrial Engineering experience: > 4 years (Logistics Industry Advantage)
• SIGMA experience: > 2 years in any Industry
• Leadership / management Experience: Performance manage Team, Goal Setting, etc. (Benefit)
• Detail oriented, high work rate & quality of work;
• TMS Systems Skills and experience: > 1 years (Advantage)

Tertiary Qualification(s)

• B-Eng Industrial Engineering Degree

Computer Skills Required

• MS Excel (Advance)
• SQL Advanced
• PYTHON (Advantage)
•  -TMS and or WMS (Advantage)

Electives

• General business acumen and sound knowledge of procurement principles, engineering economics and fundamental accounting principles.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Engineered Solutions: Identify, analyse & develop value-adding solutions for current & prospective clients;
• Sales Support: Assist with ‘technical selling’ to clients and with the development & documenting of proposals, response to tenders, RFQs & RFPs;
• Revenue Protection: Ensure Revenue Protection is maintained, improved and Improved for DSV Road Logistics.
• Client Profitability: ABC Costing analysis and Client Profitability models
• Analysis and recommendations: 1) Data (analysis, comparison, sense checking), 2) Processes (supporting business objectives, complete, accurate, relevant, error proofed, common exceptions covered, measurable),
• Business cases / feasibility studies: Develop as required depending on financial investment required and risk profile. Tools and aspects to consider include ROI calculations, quantified value, opportunity for productivity improvements and future growth / revenue potential
• Group Facilitation: Leading & influencing a diverse group through planning and/or problem solving activities as required, including Advance Quality Planning (AQP) sessions; 
• Travel: Reasonable local travel requirement to use knowledge, skills and experience in support of relevant DSV business objectives
