    Senior Manager- Enterprise Risk Management

    Description of the role and purpose of the job:

    • Our national Internal Audit and ERM Services practice provides strategic sourcing of Internal Audit; Enterprise Risk Management; Governance, Regulatory Compliance, Contract Compliance and Sustainability services. This opportunity involves a strong focus on Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and the delivery of risk management solutions to our clients.
    • We currently have a vacancy for one experienced candidate within our JHB office who will support the ERM team with ERM delivery for a wide variety of clients across all industries while providing clients with real, value added consulting services while enhancing the image of KPMG in the marketplace.

    Key responsibilities:
    General

    • Lead project management efforts including strategic resource planning, budgeting, and overseeing adherence to budgets, billing and collections, quality assurance, and risk management on engagements.
    • Direct and oversee the execution and management of complex risk and compliance assignments, ensuring alignment with business goals.
    • Provide leadership and guidance to ERM staff in the supervision, training, development, and mentoring of these staff members, including setting strategic training plans.
    • Drive continuous improvement and innovation in updating technical knowledge and service offerings.
    • Lead efforts to enhance current levels of service delivery, client satisfaction, and strategic initiatives department wide.
    • Participate in strategic decision-making and problem-solving with the AD: ERM.
    • Manage and review subordinate staff performance, leveraging performance management tools to guide professional development.
    • Develop and maintain high-level relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders to facilitate strategic enterprise partnerships.
    • With an entrepreneurial mindset, identify and cultivate business opportunities, including expansion of service offerings.

    ERM specific

    • Lead risk maturity assessments leveraging KPMG's Global Risk Maturity assessment tool and validate findings.
    • Spearhead the development and execution of comprehensive risk management frameworks and strategies for complex client engagements.
    • Facilitate strategic and operational risk assessment workshops with senior client management, including C-Suite executives.
    • Guide the facilitation of risk management awareness training sessions across strategic business lines.
    • Direct comprehensive risk gap analysis assignments and synthesize findings into actionable insights.
    • Oversee the development and implementation of risk appetite and tolerance levels, defining strategic thresholds.
    • Identify and lead the facilitation of Key Risk Indicators (KRI's) within complex client contexts.
    • Direct the implementation of sophisticated ERM systems across client enterprises.
    • Oversee development of Combined Assurance models, frameworks, and plans across sectors.

    Skills and attributes required for the role:

    • Ability to develop innovative and creative solutions to problems/initiates smarter ways of working and improving processes.
    • Strategic understanding of Enterprise Risk Management imperatives on a global scale.
    • Engagement planning and management, ensuring all strategic client scope requirements and expectations are met satisfactorily.
    • Demonstrated professional integrity, and sophisticated client and team relationship management experience at a senior level.
    • Advanced commerciality, strategic business acumen, and innovative thinking.
    • Proven ability in effectively managing time and driving team achievement within large-scale project budgets.
    • A strategic team leader who fosters accountability and contributes to a positive and cohesive team environment, driving high performance.
    • Expertise in Leading Risk Management Practice Codes and emerging global threats.
    • Excellent report writing ability with a comprehensive grasp of structured and insightful communication.
    • Ability to lead adaptive strategies in dynamic environments, with the expertise in diagnosing and resolving complex issues.
    • Drive development of innovative solutions to complex organizational challenges, championing smarter and improved processes.

    Minimum requirements to apply for the role (including qualifications and experience):

    • B Com Hons Internal Auditing (or relevant qualification)
    • Certificate in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) designation (desirable)
    • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Control Self Assessor (CCSA) designation (advantageous)
    • Minimum of eight years relevant ERM working and management experience
