Senior Manager (Mechanical Engineering) (Mbs) at eThekwini Municipality

Key Responsibility Areas

• Identifies and defines the immediate, short and long term objectives/plans associated with  the delivery of mechanical building maintenance and projects services.
• Directs and controls the key activities/ programmes and critical project phases  encompassing installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of mechanical  building control, supply and conveying systems.
• Prepares capital and operating estimates for the Branch and approves and controls operational and project related expenditure against the budget allocations.
• Manages the formulation of specific contracts and tender documents and controls obligations.
• Directs and controls the key activities/ programmes and critical project phases  encompassing installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of mechanical  building control, supply and conveying systems.
• Disseminates strategic, functional and operational information on the immediate, short and long term objectives.

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering (NQF Level 8) in Mechanical Engineering.
• Registered as a Professional Mechanical Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
• Valid motor vehicle driving license
• 8 years relevant experience of which 5 years must be post registration experience.
