Senior Manager (Pavement & Geo Eng) at eThekwini Municipality

Job Purpose    

• Manages the key performance areas and result indicators associated with the pavement and geotechnical branch. 

Key Responsibility Areas    

• Identifies and defines the immediate, short and long term objectives/plans associated with pavement and geotechnical engineering.
• Directs and controls outcomes associated with utilization, productivity and performance of personnel within the Pavement and Geotechnical branch.
• Prepares capital and operating estimates and controls expenditure against the approved budget allocations.
• Analyses and provides technical advice and information with respect to design, construction methodology and quality assurance standards to related departments and/or Units.
• Directs and controls specific methods and outcomes associated with quality analysis and evaluation of materials, construction processes and roadway structures.
• Directs and controls the outcomes and/or key indicators associated with the Pavement Management System.

Essential Requirements    

• Bachelor of Technology or Bachelor of Engineering Technology (NQF Level 7) in Civil Engineering.
• Registered as a Professional Engineering Technologist with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
• Valid motor vehicle driving license.
• 7 years relevant post registration experience.

Preferred Requirements    

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (NQF Level 8) in Civil Engineering.
• Registered as a Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
• 8 Years relevant experience.
