Senior Manager (Primary Health Care) at eThekwini Municipality

Key Responsibility Areas

• Provides input into strategic planning for service delivery in order to achieve goals and objectives as outlined in the National Health Plan and IDP.
• Plans, prepares, motivates and reviews annual operating budgets, capital budgets, and project priorities.
•  Manages and guides the performance, training and conduct of staff.
•  Plans, directs, co-ordinates and ensures implementation of all environmental health, nursing and community health programmes as directed by National, Provincial and Council priorities.
• Manages technical and logistical support teams during emergencies.
• Undertakes research into problem areas within the Primary Health Care arena and ensure priority areas are addressed.
• Facilitates the establishment of area health management teams.
• Manages all assets within the area, ensuring the maintenance and upgrade of healthcare facilities and that regular audits are undertaken.

Essential Requirements

• Degree (NQF Level 7) in Environmental Health or Nursing or related field.
• Current registration with the HPCSA or SANC.
• Valid motor vehicle driving license.
• 6 Years relevant experience of which 3 years must be at a management level. 

Preferred Requirements

• Post graduate qualification (NQF Level 8) in Public Health Sciences.
• 8 Years relevant experience of which 4 years must be at a management level.
