    Senior Manager: Strategy and Programme Management

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

    • Strategy Analysis, Design, Development and Deployment
    • Analyse current corporate strategy in line with changes in legislative, strategic, policy environments.
    • Perform regular analysis and external research to determine critical internal and external drivers of strategy.
    • Analyse organisational performance, industry trends, applicable regulatory requirements and their impact on strategy and operations.
    • Facilitate and coordinate new business strategy design, development or updates to existing strategies.
    • Align, manage, monitor and evaluate strategic initiatives to ensure legislative, strategic and policy mandates delivery.
    • Support leadership on strategy formulation, alignment, planning, implementation, execution, process improvements, and communication.
    • Ensure organisational engagement and alignment on planning and strategic considerations.
    • Set key strategic focus areas for SAMSA and track outcomes.
    • Strategy Monitoring, Reporting and Evaluation
    • Facilitate closing gap to plan with tactical actions.
    • Conduct benchmarking studies for organisational measures and targets.
    • Compile Strategic and Annual Performance Plans.
    • Design and monitor Centre Operational Plans within performance management.
    • Establish effective corporate performance management system.
    • Maintain compliance framework for corporate performance management.
    • Monitor and report performance against Annual Plans quarterly and annually.
    • Maintain Corporate Performance Information data integrity.
    • Communicate Corporate Performance internally and externally.
    • Evaluate corporate performance and success of strategic objectives.
    • Managing Strategic Outcomes
    • Analyse final corporate performance results, draw lessons learnt for corporate decisions.
    • Prepare and implement Corporate Performance improvement plans.
    • Programme & Project Leadership, Planning and Governance
    • Develop Enterprise Programme and Project Management Frameworks including policy, strategy, and implementation plans.
    • Identify productivity opportunities with Centre Heads.
    • Develop short and long-term projects to advance strategic goals.
    • Quality Management & Enterprise Business Process Management
    • Oversee high priority projects requiring integration and resources.
    • Partner with Centre Heads to implement projects successfully.
    • Monitor project progress, make adjustments for timely completion.
    • Maintain and report strategic project dashboards.
    • Agree resource requirements for projects and secure them.
    • Provide oversight and leadership in Quality Management System design and maintenance.
    • Lead Quality Management System assessments, reviews and performance monitoring.
    • Manage operational excellence principles and standards embedding.
    • People Leadership
    • Provide leadership aligned with SAMSA culture and values.
    • Manage performance, productivity, development and well-being of Strategy and Performance team.
    • Implement performance incentives and measures.
    • Facilitate collaboration between Strategy, Planning, Reporting and Risk Management areas.

    Requirements

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Matric Certificate (NQF 4) is essential
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration\Public Administration\Public Management\Business Management\Management (NQF 7) is essential
    • Postgraduate Qualification in Business Administration\Public Administration\Public Management\Business Management\Management (NQF 8) is preferred
    • Certificate in Project Management\Strategic Management is preferred
    • Membership of recognized professional body is preferred.
    • MBA would be an added advantage

    EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

    • Seven (7) years of Strategy Management experience, of which three (3) years experience should be in Supervisory\Management with specific focus on Strategy Management.
    • Experience managing organisational or divisional strategy development.
    • Solid experience in risk management and large-scale project management.
    • Experience with boardroom dynamics and strong presence.
