Senior Process Controller at AECI Limited

Job Description    

• Assist team leader as required
• Supervise the production process so that volume targets are met within budgeted costs
• Monitor, and arrange for appropriate adjustments to key production plant parameters to ensure product integrity is maintained and quality standards met
• Maintain good industrial relations, discipline and the morale of process operators and ensure that all operators are fully trained in process and safety procedures to promote a positive and safe work environment
• Monitor and control safety systems to ensure safe working at all times
• Analyze and resolve process, equipment and quality problems as quickly as possible to maintain production continuity
• Keep production management and other supervisors informed of the status of the plant and any significant process or personal problems to avoid disruption and ensure smooth operation of the plant
• Operate plant on DCS and assist PC outside if needed
• Ensure that housekeeping is performed to the required level
• Ensure that all stuff is trained and ready for any emergency i.e. fire and gas escape
• Work shifts
• Perform any other relevant tasks as may be required from time to time

Qualifications & Experience    

• Matric with Maths & Science/ NQF4 Chemical Operations
• Minimum 3 year experience in a chemical production environment
• Experience operating the CS2 Xanthate plant is an advantage
• Understanding of MSDS’s
• Computer literacy essential
• Knowledge of plant process
