Key Responsibility Areas

• Provides Primary Medical care services.
• Plans and executes a Health Promotion Programme in line with the National Health Calendar.
• Plans and implements an effective wellness Management Programme within the allocated region.
• Provides an Occupational Health and Hygiene service and keeps up to date with current trends and standards in light thereof.
• Oversees the First Aid and Injury On Duty management at Clinic level.
• Provides an efficient, effective legally compliant Occupational Health service to ensure healthy employees.
• Effectively markets and/ or promotes Occupational Health service to all Council Employees.
• Ensures clinical and administrative policies, procedures and processes are adhered to.
• Continually assesses and evaluates the performance of subordinates. 

Essential Requirements

• Diploma (NQF Level 6) in General Nursing.
• Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a General Nurse.
• Certificate in Occupational Health Nursing.
• Dispensing Course Certificate.
• Certificate in Audiometry.
• Certificate in Spirometry.
• Valid motor vehicle driving license.
• 2 years post graduate experience in Occupational Health Nursing.
• Computer Literacy.

Preferred Requirements

• Diploma (NQF Level 6) in General Nursing.
• Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a General Nurse.
• Certificate in Occupational Health Nursing.
• Dispensing Course Certificate.
• Certificate in Audiometry.
• Certificate in Spirometry.
• Registration of Occupational Health as an additional qualification with the South African Nursing Council.
• 3 years post graduate experience in Occupational Health Nursing.
