    Senior Professional Officer - Children’s Coordinator

    Requirements

    • B.Bibl / B.LIS / B.Tech: LIS / B.Inf (Hons) or PGDip LIS or equivalent four-year post matric qualification
    • Computer literacy
    • Five (5) to eight (8) years’ relevant experience with supervisory experience and proven experience working with Children’s Services
    • Registered member of LIASA.

    Key Performance Areas

    • Provide professional knowledge within the library specialist sphere pertaining to the coordination of a Specialist Children's Service
    • Develop and implement the full range of programmes, systems, policies and practices in relation to Children's Services within Library and Information Services to provide effective service delivery ensuring an innovative, integrated and sustained approach to rendering a children's library service
    • Facilitate the development of projects, policies and procedures and their implementation, by working with other professionals from the same or related disciplines, in the establishment of programmes for children in Library and Information Services
    • Identify and maximise opportunities for integration and collaborative initiatives in children's programming or projects across the city, with internal and external stakeholders
    • Build relationships through interacting and engaging key internal and external stakeholders ensuring that good relationships are developed and maintained with relevant partners in children's services
    • Compile reports based on research and communicating on the results of investigations related to the outcomes and impact of programmes and project executed in Children's Services
    • Engage with relevant staff in various platforms, including working groups and interest groups to support and develop professional services in the department
