Minimum of 5 to 7 years’ post-graduate experience in project management/design/contract management/construction of civil engineering and/or industrial building projects, at an appropriate level
Project management experience (major projects over R75 million)
Candidate Engineering Technologist / Engineer (Essential) or Professional registration with ECSA (Pr Tech Eng / Pr Eng) (Advantageous)
Registration as Pr PM or Pr CPM advantageous
A valid Code B or EB driver’s licence.
Key Performance Areas
Undertake efficient and effective project management of Urban Waste Management (UWM) facilities (including integrated waste management facilities/transfer stations, landfill sites, drop-offs, office and depots) from site identification to development and operations
Undertake project scoping, including risk identification and mitigation/contingency measures
Prepare infrastructure provision plans for inclusion in the long-term Service Master Plan and Council’s IDP
Identify projects and prepare cost estimates for inclusion in the 3-, 10- and 20-year capital budget
Draft specifications and provide input in the competitive selection process for appointment of Consultants
