Senior Proffesional Officer -Engineering (Distribution System Development
B Sc degree in Electrical Engineering or B Tech degree in Electrical Engineering.
ECSA-registered Professional Engineer or ECSA-registered Professional Engineering Technologist
Minimum of 5-8 years' post-graduate or directly applicable and acceptable experience in an electricity distribution system environment with exposure to a wide range of technologies.
Extensive exposure to a project design and management environment.
Specialised knowledge of advanced power system engineering.
Wide knowledge of electricity distribution equipment.
Sound knowledge of safety legislation and practice.
Sound project management skills.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Financial analysis expertise.
Excellent report writing ability.
Problem solving skills.
A high degree of computer literacy.
Extensive exposure to a project design and project management environment.
Key Performance Areas
KPA weighting will be adjusted to meet the requirements of the division (SIP, PI, PLD or SCP) where the successful candidate is placed.
Managing an area-specific c unit of a division of the Distribution System Development branch (SIP, PI, PLD)
Facilitating the planning, design and implementation of network extensions in response to customer power supply applications (SCP, SIP, PI)
Facilitating the planning and design of public lighting infrastructure in response to requests for new or additional lighting (PLD)
Facilitating the establishment of residential, commercial and industrial developments.
