Appointment as Senior Registrar will be for a maximum contract period of 2 years. It may become necessary to second/transfer staff to another hospital/institution during their period of training, in which case affected staff will be consulted prior to any decision being implemented.
Senior Registrars will function across health facilities, as per an agreed programme. Should registration with the HEI as a student be discontinued for any reason the appointment as a Senior Registrar also discontinues.
Consideration will be given to existing employees who are already on higher salary packages to retain their existing salary position, as personal. As such they are entitled to receive pay progression. Appointment as Senior Registrar will be on contract.
Employees in service who opt to continue with their pension benefits as Senior Registrar, will be required to resign after completion of their registrarship should they not be successful for advertised Medical Sub-Specialist positions.

Commuted overtime is compulsory. Emergency and after hours call cover.
Excellent communication skills. Ability to function independently at a level of a Medical Specialist in Paediatrics. FCPaed. MMed (Paed).

To render a comprehensive clinical service in Paediatric Pulmonology covering day-time work and after-hours. To provide Paediatric Pulmonology inpatient and/ or outpatient care, as well as performing clinical teaching, administrative duties, management and research.
R 1 341 855 per annum - R 1 403 148 per annum A portion of the package can be structured according to the individual’s personal needs.
