ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop, test, and maintain application software using informal specifications as input
• Independently produce informal specifications and technical designs
• Research and evaluate new and trending technologies in order to recommend technical improvements to current applications
• Recommend improvements to the development processes and contribute to product architecture
• Develop and maintain features on web-based applications that are available to the general public and for internal use
• Develop and maintain features on HTTP REST based APIs, Unit tests, integration tests and automated user interface tests
• Maintain all software and create updates regularly to address customer and company concerns
• Troubleshoot coding problems quickly and efficiently to ensure a productive workplace
• Actively seek ways to improve business software processes and interactions

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field          
• 10+ years’ experience in a Software Developer role
• Proven experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer or similar role
• Experience developing software utilizing various coding languages such as TypeScript, JavaScript, AngularJS, PHP, Perl, Mason, Java, Spring Framework, MySQL, Jasmine, JUnit, GitLab CI, Docker, AWS, Less, VS Code
• Experience with software design and development in a test-driven environment
• Knowledge of coding languages (e.g. C++, Java, JavaScript) and frameworks/systems such as AngularJS
• Experience with databases and Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) frameworks (e.g. Hibernate)
• Proven ability in developing secure software systems based upon industry specifications
• Exposure and experience with ITIL as a Technology framework and ITSM (IT Service Management) as a process and/or practice, particularly with Service Transition and Service Operations
• Ability to learn new technologies
• Excellent communication skills
• Resourcefulness and troubleshooting aptitude
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Experience in the Telecommunications Industry/sector would also be preferable
