Senior Specialist: Application Management at Vodacom

The Senior Specialist: Application Management role based within the Technology Business Unit.

• The purpose of the Senior Specialist: Application Management is to ensure that the IT estate can be electronically discovered and represented in the uCMDB . The Senior Specialist: Application Management must also ensure that the Discovery environment is available and performing within the defined service parameters, ensuring that best practice and hygiene principles are exercised.
• The role holder will be the primary contact for infrastructure teams, application vendors, security teams and various networks teams.

• Various reports
• Routine administrative system tasks (scope management)
• Integration to the CMDB
• Developing workflow automations

Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Managing the engagement with the Discovery application vendors to ensure that all technical aspects and issues are addressed
• Designing and implementing the optimal Discovery architecture for the Vodacom Group
• Integration to and from the Discovery toolset to accommodate various modes of infrastructure and application deployments
• Ensuring that all relevant business units are able to make use of the Discovery services

The Ideal Candidate For This Role Will Have

• 3yr Degree/Diploma (IT-related)
• At least 5yrs Discovery experience
• ITIL v3 certification
• At least 5yrs Telecommunication experience
• Experience working in a DevOps environment
• AWS Developer certification
