    Senior Specialist: ICT Compliance

    Responsibilities include:

    • Continued pro-active stakeholder engagement, building and maintaining effective and value adding business relationships with all relevant stakeholders
    • Maintaining professionalism in all verbal and written communications
    • Participating and advising committees, forums, working groups and projects in the CFs on regulatory compliance requirements
    • Reporting on the level of compliance with internal policies and procedures, applicable laws, regulations and rules impacting the CFs
    • Interacting and engaging with the broader compliance and business communities, assurance providers and senior members in the Group
    • Advising and recommending compliance changes in respect of internal procedures, controls, business rules, policy and new regulations
    • Identifying the universe of laws applicable to the CFs and conducting a detailed Impact Risk Assessment
    • Drafting compliance risk management plans for all core, high and medium risk regulatory requirements
    • Creating and customizing a coverage plan for the CFs, incorporating compliance activities including reporting, assurance reviews, and other compliance activities
    • Advising on compliance reviews to be conducted in the CFs, liaising and advising the CF Monitoring & Testing team, and other assurance providers, on scoping, findings, risk ratings and remedial actions as it relates to Conduct risk, Regulatory and Reputational risk reviews
    • Designing, developing and implementing processes and systems which will enable appropriate and accurate reporting of monthly and quarterly compliance reports to stakeholders and management
    • Providing opinion on the business impact of anticipated new or pending regulations, ensuring appropriate consultation held
    • Providing subject matter compliance awareness training to CFs on new regulations and compliance policies impacting the function
    • Continuously evaluate the control environment of CFs and advising stakeholders on compliance matters, as appropriate
    • Maintain a high level of knowledge of the Banks Act, Data Protection Laws, Cybercrimes Act, Companies Act, Information and Technology International Standards, best practices and other applicable regulations impacting respective CFs.

    Qualifications And Experience

    Essential:

    • B degree/similar qualification in Law, Informatics, Business Informatics, Information Technology Management, Commerce or Risk management
    • 6-8 years experience in IT – law / compliance / auditing / risk management / Governance (GRC)
    • Outstanding working knowledge of technology, information, data protection laws, IT regulations
    • Excellent ability to analyse and interpret legal and statutory requirements with hands-on execution at the ground level
    • Understanding of IT risk management concepts and practices
    • Demonstrates problem-solving, critical thinking, and prioritization of work to resolve issues as they arise in an appropriate and timely manner
    • Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle Framework

    Preferred:

    • Certificate in Compliance Management
    • Experience in a financial services environment
    • At least 3-5 years IT Auditing Experience
    • Knowledge of Technology Change Management
    • Experience in Technology and Cyber Incident Management
    • CISM/ Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP)/ ITIL/ COBIT
