• Bombela Maintenance is looking to recruit 1 x Senior Technician Driver.
• The main purpose of this role is to ensure safe, reliable and available trains as per customer requirements, primarily through leading all train movements within the Depot.
• This role will be based at the Gautrain Maintenance Depot in Midrand, Johannesburg. 

YOUR ROLE:

• Take responsibility of compliance to safety, quality assurance and improvements during and for the train movement of way (MOW) / road rail vehicles (RRVs) activities
• Lead all Train Driving activities and responsibilities
• Participate in Train Rescue & Re-railing
• Perform Preventative and Corrective Maintenance

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

• Certified Train Driver (Train Driver Diploma) with Grade 12.  Technical qualification advantageous
• Railway experience as a driver is a must. Minimum 10 years’ experience as a train driver
• Basic computer literacy
• Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Valid Driver’s license with PDP (Code 14 will be advantageous)
• See in colour (train signals)
• Working at heights
• Working shifts / overtime
• Fit and robust (lots of walking)
• Advanced knowledge of related tools
• Solid knowledge of train maintenance
• Ability to work under immense pressure
• Ability to stay calm in pressurized conditions.
