Shift Supervisor (3 Months Fixed Term Contract) at Tsebo Solution

• Tsebo Facilities Solutions is looking for a Shift Supervisor to supervise and coordinate all maintenance activities during the assigned shift, ensuring that hotel facilities, equipment, and services are fully operational, safe, and maintained to a high standard. The role supports operational continuity, compliance, and an exceptional guest experience through effective supervision, timely response, and quality control.

Duties & Responsibilities    
Maintenance Operations

• Supervise and perform general maintenance across electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, civil, painting, kitchen, laundry, and air-conditioning systems
• Allocate, monitor, and close maintenance work orders using the PRAGMA system
• Ensure all work is completed according to priority, quality standards, and agreed response times
• Provide standby support and respond promptly to urgent or critical breakdowns
• Escalate critical failures immediately and provide regular progress updates until resolution
• Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of all maintenance activities

Team Supervision

• Plan, assign, and oversee daily tasks for maintenance staff
• Monitor productivity and quality of workmanship

Subcontractor Management

• Supervise on-site contractors in line with approved
• Scope of Work and SLAs
• Ensure contractors comply with site safety, security, and housekeeping standards Inspect and approve completed work before sign-off

Preventative Maintenance

• Ensure preventative maintenance schedules and equipment registers are maintained
• Monitor contractor performance on preventative maintenance activities
• Ensure faults are resolved timeously and cost-effectively

Training & Development

• Identify training and skills gaps within the maintenance team
• Conduct on-the-job coaching and performance assessments
• Recommend and motivate relevant technical, safety, and compliance training
• Reinforce service excellence and guest-focused behaviour

Stock & Stores Control

• Request, collect, and manage spares and materials
• Maintain accurate stock records and issuing controls
• Participate in monthly stock takes
• Ensure stock variances remain below 1%

Stakeholder & Client Relations

• Build effective working relationships with Hotel Building Managers and client teams
• Communicate clearly with the Contact Centre, Security, and Duty Management
• Ensure guest experience remains a priority at all times

Skills and Competencies    

• Sound knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, and general maintenance
• Fault-finding and root cause analysis
• Safe use of hand and power tools
• Computer literacy (MS Office and maintenance systems)

Qualifications    

• Matric or NTC 3/4/5 (Technical or Skilled qualification)
• Minimum 3–4 years’ hands-on experience in building, electrical, mechanical, or facilities maintenance
• Proven experience supervising technical or maintenance teams
• Hotel, resort, or large-site maintenance experience preferred
