    Shop Manager

    Job Summary: 

    The Shop Manager is responsible for all sales, operational and administrational function of the shop. This includes managing the shops counter sales team and floor assistants. The Shop Managers main focus will be that all internal processes are executed timeously and accurately according to Turf-Ag’s Standard Operating Procedures. The incumbent will also manage customer’s problems, questions and concerns. They will coordinate with responsible personnel to provide timely and accurate feedback to customers and managers.

    Duties and responsibilities:

    • Open store on time for trading according to set shop hours.
    • Lock up after daily duties were completed.
    • Make sure all invoices are done correctly.
    • Daily cash-ups must be done correctly and on time.
    • Responsible for accurate instore stock management.
    • Answer all incoming calls and email promptly and professionally.
    • Manage and execute all shop related payroll and overtime actions.
    • Maintain inter departmental collaboration and communication.
    • Establish good customer relationships.
    • Assist and advise customers on basic product information. If unable to assist, escalate the enquiry to the technical team.
    • Oversee all shop employees, including creating schedules, provide coaching and mentoring, monitoring the performance and issuing corrective action when required.
    • Motivate, organize and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure that productivity targets are met.
    • Collaborate with clients to identify and implement value added services.
    • Compile reports as requested from management.
    • Manage and partake in stock take actions.
    • Keep up to date with product knowledge and other training requirements as prescribed by management.
    • Ensure all staff wears appropriate clothing.
    • Arrange and chair monthly meetings.
    • Comply with all health and safety regulations at all times.
    • Conduct ad hoc tasks as requested by management.

    Skills:

    •  Strong sales and administration skills.
    • Strong organisational skills.
    • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team.
    • Strong Computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Email)
    • Knowledge of irrigation and the agriculture industry required.
    • Professional people and communication skills.
    • Must be able to work under pressure, accurately neat and organized.

    Minimum requirements:

    • Grade 12 (Tertiary qualification would be advantageous)
    • Completion of any SABI course will be advantageous to your application
