    Site HR Manager, South Africa

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The role duties and responsibilities include providing HR administrative as well as partnership with MEA HR Team, South Africa GM, and other business leaders to ensure efficient operation of South Africa office HR services. Supports WQ MEA HR Manager through a variety of tasks as assigned. Responsible for confidential sensitive materials and data ensuring smooth process flow while adhering to all the company practices and procedures. Ability to effectively communicate, ensuring that all duties are completed accurately in a timely manner and aligned with the business strategy for the assigned groups.

     

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Reporting & Analytics: Assist with monthly reporting on HR activities within the region, including metrics tracking; recruitment, turnover, IFR, TTF, and other reports as requested by MEA HR Manager.
    • Full administration & preparation ownership of the monthly payroll process.
    • B-BBEE Administration: contribute to initiatives assigned per Organizational B-BBEE scorecard.
    • Compliance, Policies & Procedures: Ensure consistent application of policies/procedures including but not limited to business expenses, recruiting, training, and associate development. Liaise with governmental compliance and legal agencies as required.
    • Partner with the MEA HR Manager to facilitate change management, accelerate growth and sustain effective business processes.
    • Coordinate with third-party employment & recruitment service suppliers in the assigned region.
    • Regularly audit the existing database & related systems, ensuring personnel files are up to date.
    • Support with the recruitment process for assigned groups including but not limited to screening applications, scheduling interviews, preparing offer letters & employment contracts, Org. announcements, assisting managers in updating job descriptions, and facilitating onboarding plans of new joiners.
    • Coordinate with the IT department to ensure timely new joiners’ set-up.
    • Performance: Work with managers and associates to address performance-related issues. Support managers on corrective actions including performance improvement plans and other issues
    • Apply skills to facilitate resolution when problems arise.
    • Assist management with disciplinary and termination procedures. Engage company attorney for counsel when necessary.
    • Take responsibility for the office safety rules ensuring a high level of health and safety environment.

    • Coordinate with the finance department and other regional team members

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

    • University Degree, Business Administration / Business Management, or equivalent background.
    • 6+ years of proven HR hands-on experience
    • Knowledge of local labour law and procedures
    • B-BBEE knowledge and practical experience
    • Ability to build strong working relationships across all levels including remote locations
    • Proven problem-solving skills
    • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
    • Attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills
    • High sense of confidentiality when handling employees’ sensitive data
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Strong organizational and planning skills
    • Team player
    • High level of integrity and known as trustworthy
    • Proficient MS Office user (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
    • Experience working with HR systems - Workday knowledge is a plus
    • Languages: Fluent in English
