    Site Manager

    Job Description :

    Purpose of Role

    • As part of the Diageo Supply Chain leadership team the principle purpose will be to manage:

    • The production facility at Isipingo

    • Wadeville Distillery

    • To ensure the conversion function is fully part of an integrated supply chain.

    • To ensure the development of site capability in terms of people and process to effectively implement the Diageo strategy


    Top 3-5 Accountabilities


    • Achieve target delivery reliability and service to marketplace, on time and in full.

    • Deliver product quality for Customer requirements.

    • Deliver on LTO, including Risk management and environmental standards

    • Lead the implementation of the Supply Chain Strategy on site.

    • Work with other parts of the Supply Chain, co-packers and the Diageo to create a fully integrated supply chain.

    • Create a culture based on values and the Diageo way of working.

    • Develop capability in terms of team members to create high quality teams and processes.

    • Effective leadership, development and coaching of Isipingo senior team.

    Qualifications and Experience Required

    • A relevant degree (Post graduate qualification will be an advantage)

    • Broad based line management experience at senior level in supply chain management or packaging or process manufacturing environment.  Proven track record in change management and considerable experience in leading and delivering results using teams

    • 10 years’ experience in an FMCG environment

    Key Skills

    • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, combined with the ability to exert influence across the business at all levels.

    • Excellent understanding of the integrated Supply Chain.

    • Technical and commercial capability.

    • Strong analytical skills.

    • Influencing without authority.

    Barriers to Success in Role

    • Inability to influence and obtain buy in – not inspiring and engaging

    • Not building solid relationships

    • No experience in packaging/bottling process

    • Limited appreciation of the complexity and the relevant interphases

    • Not passionate about production

    • Lack on interpersonal skills

    • Not analytical

    • Avoiding confrontation
