Introduction

• This position will be based at a site close to Aggeneys in the Northern Cape.

Description

• The purpose of the position is to manage and coordinate the implementation of SHEQ related programs and systems according to Minopex, client and legislative requirements.

Qualification Requirements

• Grade 12 or Equivalent
• Certificates or Diploma in SHEQ Management
• Valid driver’s licence code B, EB or C1

Experience and Skills Requirements

• Minimum 10 years’ experience and knowledge of plant operations.
• SHEQ Auditors certificate
• Computer Literate in MS Office
• Presentation and report writing skills
• Legal Liability Training
• ISO 9001 Quality Management Training
• ISO 14001 Environmental Management Training
• ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems Training
• Advanced hazard Identification and Risk Assessment

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance to all legislative requirements according to Minopex SHEQ Objectives
• Ensure the implementation of programs and systems across the Minopex sites to create awareness and compliance according to SHEQ objectives
• Ensure the implementation and maintenance of the Minopex SHEQ Management System to monitor adherence to SHEQ and legislative requirements
• Ensure that corporate objectives and targets are managed, and desired results are achieved
• Ensure site level objectives and targets are in line with corporate and client objectives and targets and manage it accordingly
• Provide and manage programs to assist sites to comply with legal requirements, i.e., Mine Health and Safety Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, COIDA Act, OHSACT Regulations etc.
• Monitor and report on all SHEQ related activities and actions according to organizational and legislative requirements
• Ensure the auditing of SHEQ systems and compliance according to organizational standards and legislative requirements
• Address non-conformances according to audit reports by developing and implementing corrective actions across operations
• Ensure medical surveillance and occupational health programs are implemented, maintained and effectively managed
• Ensure all legal appointments are in place, valid and correct according to required legislation
• Facilitate Department of Minerals and Resources (DMR) visits and audits and actively drive any requirements identified
• Facilitate and coordinate site certification processes according to ISO standards, (i.e., ISO 9001, 14001 & OHSAS 18001) to ensure adherence to client specification and organizational standards
• Continuously analyze SHEQ information to identify problems, deviations and implement corrective actions accordingly
• Lead incident/accident investigations to determine, report and eliminate root causes according to legislative and ISO requirements
• Ensure the implementation of SHEQ related training and development to create awareness and adherence to legislative requirements
