Site Supervisor JCE (Sasol Secunda) - Middelburg at Howden

What needs to be done?

• Participate in pre-project discussions before SOW is defined & resources are allocated to ensure preparedness.
• Scoping for all JCE work.
• Participate in first-line inspections to determine final SOW.
• Compile spares list needed for assignment to ensure SOW can be fulfilled.
• Plan & interpret project requirements after receipt of production order (data package) to achieve objectives effectively.
• Ensure all safety regulations and site Safety File requirements are applied on the job to ensure the wellbeing of Howden workers.
• Plan & organise daily activities per bar chart to ensure the progress in SOW is monitored & controlled.
• Apply Howden standards, procedures etc. on the job to ensure quality of workmanship.
• Deputise (when necessary) for the Site Manager at Sasol or Eskom meetings to report on progress.
• Expedite receipt of spares & equipment delivered to site to control Howden inventory.
• Provide on job training on Howden products & activities to enhance skills & competency.
• Execution of documentation included in the data book as work progresses to ensure Quality System compliance.
• Stock control of tools & working equipment to ensure availability & in working condition.
• Check & endorse timesheets as per attendance register to enable the Client to sign-off.
• Shift handover compliance of Sups, QC’s, SO &SM to ensure continuity on all fronts.
• Ensure that all newly appointed subordinates are paired with an experienced person (buddy, buddy system) to ensure skill and safety culture gets transferred.
• Do alignments and balancing mainly on JCE but also GO and maintenance if required.
• Work mainly at Sasol Secunda but also Eskom Power Stations, Paper Mills, Sugar mills & mines.

What do you need to bring?

• Matric/Grade 12
• N3 qualification or higher.
• Trade tested and qualified Mechanical Fitter
• Level 1 welding fabrication inspector certificate
• Knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel and MS Project.
• 3 years in a maintenance supervisory capacity.
• Knowledge of NEC 3 contract
• Valid Driver’s licence.
