Snr Manager: Regional Procurement - Richards Bay at Transnet

Position Purpose:

• To implement sourcing of commodities in TPT, through the application of the total cost of ownership approach, in compliance with legislation and SCM policy in order to optimise supply chain variables of cost, quality, service and reliability. This includes contract and logistics management.
• Develops and implements strategies to improve the efficiency of all purchasing transactions, from order to payment, while reducing total cost and maintaining quality and vendor service levels.

Position outputs:

• Strategic Management of Richards Bay Terminals.
• Consolidate demand of all the business units and develop a standardised purchasing and contracting approach for the Richards Bay Terminals.
• Manage the budget and SCM spend.
• Participation in the Sourcing Centre of Excellence.
• Ensure Service delivery management in SCM.
• Responsible for oversight of strategic sourcing function:
• Responsible for the Management of SCM function and strategic initiatives.
• Builds partnerships in the development of opportunities for business value or service enhancement;
• Interacts at a strategic level with ME's, Executives on supply chain management issues.
• Drive capability development initiatives for Sourcing within Transnet Port Terminals
• Manage resources so that business objectives are achieved within time quality and budget requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:

• A relevant Bachelor's degree in Supply Management, Logistics, Commercial or Financial is required, preferably with a post-graduate business or finance degree or similar;
• CIPS Level 6 or a post graduate degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Commercial will be an added advantage;
• At least 8 years relevant experience in Supply Chain Management Function;
• Experience and Knowledge in Purchasing, Supply Management, Manufacturing or Financial Environments is desirable; and Contract management and extensive experience in contractual negotiations
