National Diploma in Public Administration / Business Management or relevant equivalent NQF Level 6 qualification
Certificate in Corporate Governance and Compliance Management or MFMA
3 - 5 years' governance experience in local government sector
Core Responsibilities:
Lead the implementation, coordination and monitoring of an effective governance compliance programme to ensure that the Municipality is conducting its operations within the parameters of the law in an increasingly complex and challenging regulatory environment
Develop policy framework and leadership to implement a meaningful strategic context that articulates the Department's purpose and vision in support of the CoE's vision and direction
Reduce the risk of non-compliance to laws and regulations and policy to monitor external information and ensure sufficient knowledge of related acts, regulations and regulatory frameworks and implement accordingly
Ensure governance and risk management training awareness to ensure effective implementation of Council resolutions with regard to risk and that no issues of non-compliance result
Ensure that the compliance process prescribed by the Compliance Policy and Manual are implemented and maintained in the Departments to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations as required
Practice customer service orientation to provide professional advice and consulting services to customers
