    Social Impact Manager (Job Level 8)

    Duties/Pligte        

    • Supporting the Stellenbosch Business School's Head of Social Impact to implement the School's social impact strategy and programmes;
    • Supporting the Stellenbosch Business School's Head of Social Impact with Faculty and institutional-related projects;
    • Advising, assisting and making strategic recommendations to the Stellenbosch Business School's Head of Social Impact and the Social Impact Committee, and managing the effective implementation of decisions;
    • Managing and integrating all social impact related administrative functions, including the preparation and control of social impact budgets and other social impact funds, record-keeping and reporting, as well as the collection and distribution of appropriate information;
    • Supporting the Stellenbosch Business School's Head of Social Impact in applying for social impact funding for implementing social impact programmes;
    • Supporting the Stellenbosch Business School's Head of Social Impact to document the School's social impact for scientific and contemporary publication;
    • Identifying, developing and arranging alternative interventions to inform academics' and students' understanding of social impact, e.g., workshops, and seminars;
    • Reviewing current and required research practices for social impact and developing Stellenbosch Business School directives for academics and students in conjunction with the research manager;
    • Reviewing current and required teaching practices for social impact and developing Business School directives for academics in conjunction with the teaching and learning manager;
    • Managing the refinement and evaluation of Stellenbosch Business School¿s social impact map and outcomes and assisting with specialised advice for the School¿s publications and accreditation efforts; 
    • Providing input to Faculty collaborations for social impact and liaising to bring back specifically relevant knowledge;
    • Managing the Business School's social impact webpage requirements, as well as implementing and ensuring the maintenance thereof;
    • With the Research and Teaching and Learning Manager, coordinating, collaborating and developing learning processes and activities, managing its correct implementation, and continually ensuring improvements that will inform research and teaching;
    • Refining the Stellenbosch Business School¿s social impact strategy and activities to exceed accreditation requirements, and contributing to the development of the accreditation social impact report to ensure continued international accreditation from AACSB, EQUIS, AMBA and others as necessary;
    • Acting as an active member of several institutional committees when required.

    Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes        

    • A postgraduate qualification in a relevant field focused on social impact, business management, corporate social responsibility, or similar;;  
    • Five years' experience in a higher education or corporate environment;
    • The ability to take instruction and work in multi-faceted teams;
    • The ability to make decisions and work under pressure in uncertain circumstances and without clear directives;
    • The ability to work independently and set own priorities;
    • Experience and knowledge of and insight into teaching and learning and research processes;
    • Strong written and verbal scientific and professional communication skills;
    • Excellent interpersonal skills: a combination of assertiveness and pragmatism.

    Recommendation/Aanbeveling        

    • Master's degree; 
    • Knowledge of the University's financial system;
    • Experience in project management; 
    • Understanding of social impact.
