    Social Labour Plan Specialist

    Job Description

    To fulfil the role of the Social Labour Plan Specialist you must have but not limited to:

    • Solid understanding and knowledge of socio-economic development and/or local provincial and national development with experience of implementing socio-economic development interventions and understanding of sustainable mining plan
    • Actively be involved in the upliftment and improvement in the community by creating, maintaining, and improving relationships within the communities, traditional authorities, local government, and other relevant stakeholders
    • Experience of delivering strategic social management plans for businesses, in line with Anglo Social Way
    • Knowledge of relevant legislative framework that governs the development space with understanding of the SED Principles and framework as in the MPRDA requirements, Mining Charter BBBEEA, Skills Development Act, and other related legislations
    • Compilation and coordination of the mines SLP’s, Mining Charter and BBBEE Reports
    • Practical experience of working at site level in developing or developed economies, in a company, consultancy or international development institution.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage projects successfully and/or organisation in complex working environments.
    • Knowledge and experience of working in private and public sectors, experience in the extractives sector (desirable)
    • Understanding and experience in financial metrics & budgets
    • Able to monitor benchmarks and identify performance gaps
    • Knowledge of contracts management of suppliers within SLP disciplines
    • Knowledge and experience in stakeholder engagements
    • Be responsible for SLP Consultations towards developments towards development and projects to be implemented in 5-year cycle.

    This role forms part of the Corporate Affairs & Sustainable Impact function at a Band 6 level reporting to the SED Manager

    Qualifications

    • Grade 12
    • Completed a Bachelors’ Degree in Social Science,: Development Studies, Public Administration, Economics, Anthropology, Social Impact Management or equivalent

    Required Experience:

    • A minimum of 5 years’ relevant development/social experience with extractive industry external / community relations or similar industries.
    • Relevant project management experience in managing community development projects within the mining or similar industries.
    • Relevant experience in designing and managing social improvement projects, compiling social profiles and social impact assessments.
    • Relevant experience in facilitating multi-stakeholder engagement sessions.

    • Good written and verbal communication skills in English with proficiency in local languages and appreciation of local culture
    • Computer Literacy in MS Office with knowledge in SAP, Isometrix, Enablon and Smartsheet advantageous
    • Knowledge of government socio-economic development plans

    • Effective communication skills
    • Good Interpersonal skills
    • Conflict resolution skills
    • Must be prepared to work overtime when required
    • Regular local travel may be required
    • Valid South African Driver’s license: Code B
    • If successful, you will be required to undergo a Medical Fitness Certification
