An appropriate qualification that allows for the required registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP) as a Social Worker.Registration with the SACSSP

Duties :
Provision of integrated therapeutic psycho-social services to the service users of all age groups, their families and the community using all methods of social work including prevention, early detection, screening and the promotion of wellbeing and quality of life. Establish intersectoral collaboration liaising with other provincial departments such as Depts. of Home Affairs, Social Development, SASSA, SAPS, Non-Governmental Organizations, Traditional healers and Faith-Based Organizations in the district to promote seamless delivery of efficient and effective psycho-social services.
Collaboration and communication with other PHC staff, the WBOTS program, and other district health services (HAST, Clinical Forensic Medical Services, Mental Health, Child Care Services) to integrate psycho-social services into their service delivery objectives. Establish referral pathways at all levels of care and liaise with district regional and tertiary hospitals in the clusters.
Provision of training and support to general health staff and community health workers. Attend and participate in clinical meetings and supervision sessions.
