Minimum educational qualification: Appropriate Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification. Registration with a professional council: Registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP) as Social Worker.
Grade 1: No experience
Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years appropriate experience in Social Work after registration as a Social Worker with the South African Council for Social Service Professions.
Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years appropriate experience in Social Work after registration as a Social Worker with the South African Council for Social Service Professions
Grade 4: A minimum of 30 years appropriate experience in Social Work after registration as a Social Worker with the South African Council for Social Service Professions. Inherent requirements of the job: Valid code (B/EB) driver’s licence and willingness to travel.
Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Computer literacy in Microsoft Office package (MS word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and e-mail (Outlook) Knowledge and insight of relevant legislation and policy related to social work service in the public sector. Good report writing, interpersonal, leadership and planning skills. Ability to work independently and within an interdisciplinary team to achieve functional outcomes for the clients. Knowledge and understanding of illness and disease, human behaviour, and social systems within a health environment setting.
