MMR is an independent, global company specialising in food, drink and consumer packaged goods research. We work regularly with over 50% of the top 100 global food and drink brands. We have offices in Durban, London, Oxford, New York, Shanghai, Singapore, Mumbai, Bangkok, Cali, Sao Paulo and the Netherlands and have a team of 480 highly engaged and dynamic research professionals that is multi-discipline in nature covering fields such as data sciences, software development, marketing, insight, R&D, sensory science and psychology.

We are expanding our team and looking to recruit a Mid to Senior level .NET Developer to assist in the design and development of custom solutions that fulfil business and client needs. This is an exciting opportunity where you will have the chance to work on green field projects as well as existing projects.

Requirements

As a Software Developer, you will be highly motivated and eager to progress, with a keen interest in programming, software design and a strong aptitude for logical thinking.

We are ideally looking for candidates with 4+ years’ software development experience. An IT related degree or equivalent qualification is useful but not necessary.

Technical skills we are looking for across candidates:

• Extensive industry experience with C# and ASP.NET Core
• Understanding of SOLID principles
• Unit testing
• Solid JavaScript, HTML and CSS skills
• Experience with Vue.js, React, Angular or equivalent
• Experience building REST APIs
• Version control (Git, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps etc.)
• Knowledge of Agile and Scrum
• Experience with SQL databases

Soft skills we are looking for:

• Ability to plan effectively and deliver to deadlines.
• Able to successfully gather requirements and compile user stories(issues) when required
• Clearly convey thoughts and ideas.
• Positive attitude to work, with the ability to learn quickly.
• Good trouble-shooting skills.
• Able to work productively, both autonomously and as part of a team.
• Open to mentoring other developers

Experience that would be beneficial for the role, but not required:

• NoSQL databases
• PostgreSQL
• Microsoft Azure cloud platform
• Experience with XML
