The RACPack MAA Cloud innovation and solution engineering team, requires an engineer for a product role, focusing on Autonomous (ATP), Exadata Cloud Services (ExaCS), Exadata (Exa), Zero Downtime migration (ZDM), Oracle Database Appliance (ODA), Real Application Clusters(RAC), Fast Patching & Provisioning(FPP), Oracle Sharding, Dynamic scaling(DNYA), gDBClone, Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, DB Operator.
 

The role requires engaging with strategic customer programs (SCP) and engaging with Oracle LOB's with supporting and new product offerings. These include developing requirements and identifying gaps by innovating and developing new solutions, in the form of prototype solutions. The engineer requires deep technical knowledge of the flagship products ATP, ExaCS/ExaCC, Exadata, ODA, RAC, ZDM, FPP and core database to ensure successfully end-to-end deployment architecture and smooth transition into production.

Job Requirements:

• BS or MS degree in computer science, or equivalent

• 10+ years of software engineering and technical leadership with proven results in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex systems and services.

• Proficient in hyper-scaled distributed systems and cloud implementations with a proven track record in Performance, Scalability, and Resiliency.

• Deep understanding of database & cloud design patterns.

• Comfortable in CI/CD and DevOps work styles.

• Proficient in deploying Oracle Exadata machines and must be able to work on the performance-related issue.

• Experience with containerized solutions, Docker, Podman, Kubernetes a plus.

• Scripting & configuration languages such as – Bash, Python, GoLang and YAML experience a strong plus.

• Proven experience in test-driven development, with Jenkins (or other CI/CD frameworks), experience a strong plus.

• Good understanding of Oracle IaaS, PaaS and DBaaS Cloud.

• Ability to work in an extremely fast-paced and challenging environment.

• The engineer requires good technical knowledge of the flagship Database products and core database to ensure successfully end-to-end deployment solution architecture and smooth transition into production.

• The engineers in this team need to be customer-focused with good communication skills.

Role:

• Design, develop, troubleshoot and support software programs on ATP, ExaCS, ExaCC, Exadata, ZDM, Oracle Database Appliance(ODA), Real Application Clusters, Docker & Kubernetes, DB Operator

• The engineer will interact with customers to provide knowledge transfer, best practices, diagnostic tools, and techniques, frequently faced problems, etc. on new product features.

• The balance between product feature development and customer SCP programs.

• Take initiative and be responsible for delivering complex software by working effectively with the team and broader set of stakeholders.

• It is preferred that the engineers perform these duties with a minimum direction and a high degree of independence, be comfortable with building relationships across organizations, speaking to executives in senior management, and to resolve cross-product issues.

 Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. Define specifications for significant new projects and specify, design and develop software according to those specifications. You will perform professional software development tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies major changes to existing products/services/processes. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience.
