Purpose of the position

To design, develop, maintain and document software solutions that meet requirements by studying information needs, conferring with users, studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes, investigating problem areas and following the software development lifecycle.

Key Accountabilities

• Design, develop, maintain and document software systems to meet product requirements and agreed timelines

• Analyse product requirements

• Perform code and documentation reviews to engineering and QMS standards

• Design and implement testing frameworks

• Develop high-quality software, designs and architecture

• Identify, prioritize and execute tasks in the software development life cycle

• Develop tools and applications by producing clean, efficient code

• Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting

• Perform validation and verification testing

• Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to fix and improve products

• Document development phases and monitor systems

• Ensure software is up-to-date with latest technologies

• Active participation in SCRUM methodology

Qualifications

Essential qualifications

• Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or relevant Developer courses coupled with 4 years of relevant developer experience

Desirable Qualifications

• Post graduate degree in Computer Science/Information Systems

• Microsoft Accreditation e.g. MCTS

Experience & Skills

• 4-7 years’ hands-on software development experience in a lean/agile environment

• Solid experience working as a Full stack developer with Microsoft Cloud Technologies including ASP.NET, Angular; Javascript, REST APIs and microservices, Data Transformation Tools such as Azure SQL, Data Factory and Analysis Services in production enterprise environments

• Experience using DevOps tools such as PowerShell, GitHub, BitBucket, JIRA and container services.

• Exposure to multiple projects in a high growth Technology company

• Previous work with Electronic Health Record systems advantageous

• Solid understanding of web technologies and protocols

• Experience as a software engineer using Microsoft technology stack and Microsoft Azure

• Excellent coding skills and understanding of software design patterns and architecture

• Use of Agile development practices

• Expertise in MS SQL Server database development

• Ability to take ownership of the software deliverables and work unsupervised

• Responsibility for risk management of the overall software product
