    Software Instructor

    The main purpose of this role is to develop and execute training plans, training materials, and classes, schedule classes into facilities, and provides software instruction to DRA’s employees.

    Reviewing results and trainee feedback to improve materials and classes, as well as identify and develop additional software training opportunities. Develop, implement and present the IS Induction and Cybersecurity programs.

    Key Performance Areas and Indicators (Responsibilities):

    • Conduct IT skills gap analyses across the DRA Group
    • Design and create technical manuals using simple language, or appropriate to the audience
    • Conduct role-specific training on tools and programs each team uses daily
    • Effectively utilise the organisation’s LMS, LinkedIn Learning.
    • Apply educational methods to engage trainees (e.g. gamification-based platforms)
    • Train new employees on the proper use of hardware and software
    • Perform regular company-wide training on system security
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of each educational session
    • Maintain updated records of training curriculum and materials
    • Devise technical training programs according to organisational requirements
    • Produce training schedules and classroom agenda
    • Determine course content according to objectives
    • Prepare training material (presentations, worksheets etc.)
    • Execute training sessions, webinars, workshops etc. in groups or individually
    • Arrange for and conduct on-site training when needed
    • Keep and report data on completed courses, absences, issues etc.
    • Observe and evaluate the results of training programs
    • Determine the overall effectiveness of programs and make improvements

    Formal qualifications required:

    • A bachelor’s degree; adult education, communications, or computer science is essential. 
    • Teacher or trainer certification advantageous.

    Job Related Experience Required:

    • 4+ years workplace trainer/instructor is essential
    • 4+ years software design/development experience is essential

    Knowledge Areas:

    • Ability to communicate orally with software designers/vendors, IT management, and software users (esp. nontechnical users)
    • Outstanding communication skills and comfortable speaking to crowds
    • Knowledge of modern training techniques and tools in technical subjects
    • Ability to explain technical terms plainly
    • Designing technical course content
