Solutions Architect at Capitec Bank

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and oversee the implementation of high-complexity solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives and client needs.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to a diverse team fostering an environment of innovation and collaboration.
• Lead high-profile projects, contributing to the strategic direction and technological advancement of the bank.
• Collaborate with the Enterprise Architecture department, contributing to technology research, compliance, and delivery efforts.
• Champion DevOps practices, including automated testing, deployment pipelines, and observability, to enhance efficiency and reliability

Experience

Junior Architect
Min:  

• At least 3 – 5 years’ relevant experience within systems development  
• At least 1 – 2 years’ experience in systems architecture / design
• .NET environment 
• Event driven architecture 
• Domain driven architecture 
• Cloud experience (AWS preferred) 
• Strong Developer background 

Qualifications (Minimum)

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology
• Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational

Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred)

• A relevant post graduate degree

Knowledge

Must have detailed knowledge of:

• System architecture (technical design and implementation processes)
• Systems analysis and design
• UML or equivalent modelling language
• Technical Test Plan Design
• IT systems development processes
• Application development
• Standards and governance

Ideal:

• Detailed knowledge of:
• Banking systems
• Agile development life cycle
• Knowledge of UML

Solid understanding of:

• Capitec Bank’s systems environment
• Capitec Bank business model
• Best practices for Quality Assurance (QA)
• Object Orientated Development environment (i.e. Java, Spring Framework, JBoss)
