The role requires a strong understanding of the business drivers and metrics that the deployment of technology must drive. You will work closely with the senior leadership team, all business functions, customers, staff and technology suppliers to drive changes to enable Sureswipe to sell, onboard, deploy, support and monitor products and services at scale.
As a member of the technology leadership team, you’ll be required to be versatile and hands-on to make the future state a reality and have a diverse skill set across analysis, software, project management, partner management and cloud services. A deep understanding of Salesforce.com would be highly advantageous.
This leadership role is heavily weighted towards business enablement systems and business analytics with a strong interface to information security, infrastructure and product teams.
To be effective in this position, you must feel comfortable owning the entire architecture development process from inception to completion.
Responsibilities
- Lead the formulation of a revised business enablement system architecture, understanding the
- interconnection to related third parties, suppliers, banks, products and other group capabilities to deliver on a low cost, best service delivery model.
- Understand and shape business requirements and customer journeys in line with best practice and toolset capabilities
- Contribute to the formulation of the case for capital investment where required
- Formulate and get buy-in at a group steerco level of an implementation roadmap
- Support the selection, assessment and deployment of technologies, services and mobile applications for Sureswipe business enablement systems
- Balance effort spent on short term improvements to meet business needs on systems to be retired and effort spent towards our target state
- Continuously assess needs and evolving requirements and be ready and willing to pivot and adapt plans accordingly
- Management, oversight and monitoring of internal and external projects
- Hands-on implementation, leadership and delivery of projects
- Provide visibility of plans and progress updates, issue and risk mitigations
- Document architecture, designs and plans concisely for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Together with cross-functional teams, measure success and value derived from architectural and system improvements that drive substantial automation and operational efficiencies
- Take accountability for technology delivery commitments
- Provide leadership, mentorship and development of Sureswipe technology teams
Requisite Knowledge
- Knowledge of the South African payment system and banking industry is advantageous
- Knowledge of the “business transformation” and “Digitisation” domains are advantageous

- Salesforce.com
- Solution architecture, AWS architecture and cloud-based solutions
- Assessment and deployment of SAAS solutions
- Data storage fundamentals
- Data analytics
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ hands on experience in delivering technology capabilities in a software design or systems analyst role
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience at a senior level in systems architecture, design or Development Manager role
- A track record of delivering large technology initiatives successfully in or for a business with 150+ employees
Qualifications
- A Technology-related degree
- Salesforce Technical Architect certification is highly advantageous
- An AWS certification is advantageous
