    Solutions Sales Manager - Africa

    About the Role

    The Solution Sales Manager, Africa is responsible for driving sales and account penetration of our research reference content on Science Direct in the territory of Africa.

    You will work closely with account managers and customer consultants to analyze the territory opportunity, drive sales against new business targets and build lasting relationships with our customers in the academic and government sectors.

    Responsibilities

    • Achieve sales targets and grow account penetration in the Africa region.
    • Collaborate with regional sales teams to develop targeted sales plans
    • Develop a strong understanding of competitor landscape and be able to successfully position against them
    • Negotiate and close contracts for new sales
    • Uncover up-sell or cross-sell opportunities in order to grow total revenue base, pro-actively working with account managers.
    • Manage relationships and engagements with key stakeholders, librarians, researchers, and economic buyers to understand their needs
    • Develop engagement plans with our customers to ensure successful implementation and adoption of our solutions
    • Systematically monitor and analyse usage at customer and regional levels against targets, developing mitigating actions where usage is not meeting objectives

    Requirements

    • Passionate sales professional with experience in value-based selling (ideally with already 5 years experience min.)
    • Strong Communication skills in English (French is a bonus)
    • Background in customer engagement and driving customer adoption
    • Enjoy building successful relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders and customers
    • Be able to partner and collaborate across teams to deliver innovative solutions to our customers
    • Have the ability to interpret information from customer analytics reports to utilize a data-driven approach to creative problem solving
    • Travel across the Africa region
