    Specialist: Employee Relations (FLV)

    This role is responsible for taking a proactive approach to employee relations by identifying higher-level employee relations trends, recommending solutions that address root cause of issues, and partnering with leadership on execution.

    The successful incumbent will be required to provide stakeholders (HR, business leaders) strong partnership on employee relations strategies, identifying trends, recommending solutions, and driving proactive change in the organization. The role will also be responsible to compile regular reports on ER activities in Plant and monitoring all ER interaction structures within the company (a)Zone meetings (b) Quarterly meetings (c) Formal engagement structures with labour. Furthermore, the successful candidate will be expected to consult and support managers/leaders on complex employee relations, performance management, re organization/reduction issues spanning all levels within the organization.

    The role will be required to promote the application of ethical behaviour/principles within the organization. The Specialist Employee Relations will ensure ER implementation strategies to support the achievement of the organisation’s strategic objectives. You will scan internal and external environment in order to assess developments, opportunities and risks to the organisation. You will be expected to initiate creative and feasible solutions to complex ER issues at organisational level within the scope of applicable regulations and collective agreements. The role will require you to facilitate the resolution of ER issues between Senior Management and labour and manage complex, strategic projects to improve processes, drive consistency, increase efficiency, and enhance organisational performance. Lastly, you will identify trends in employment practices and advises on appropriate proactive action and training opportunities including developing and coaching leadership capacity and aligning policies and legislation.

    Qualifications:
    Qualifications – External

    • A formal tertiary qualification in Industrial Relations/Law Degree.
    • Experience of HR Management, especially within the manufacturing sectors/operations.
    • Sound experience of labour relations and extensive experience of CCMA.
    • MS Office – Intermediate.
    • Presentation Skills.
    • Negotiation skills.
    • Coaching skills.
    • Interpersonal skills.
