JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop ESB applications and services covering end to end fulfilment, assurance and billing flow. - Provide integration capability to enable digital channels. - Solution development for middleware and back end applications. - Be a custodian of RedHat middleware suite. - Build business logic and business rules though BRMS and BPM engines. - Management and configuration of data using RedHat datagrid and data virtualization. - Adherence to software development guidelines, principles and best practice frameworks. - Quality assurance of code developed. - Conducting unit testing of code developed. - Define how the components of all the applications relate to each other and support business needs.

FUNCTIONAL KNOWLEDGE

• Project delivery on Java based applications;
• Building and integrating applications;
• Build applications within an enterprise environment;
• Software development cycles and quality assurance processes;
• Hands on experience in designing, developing and implementing applications using Java EE platforms;
• Custom module and API development; Design patterns;
• Microservices development and container deployment; Relational databases -JSP, JDBC, Java Servlets, Javabeans/ EJBs, SQL, JavaScript, HTML;
• Understanding of DevOps environment;
• API implementation and life cycle management;
• Integrating open source and third-party applications;
• OSS/ BSS Systems Analysis/ Development & Trouble Shooting;
• Development and delivery experience with Java

QUALIFICATIONS

• 3 year Bachelors Degree/ Diploma or equivalent qualification (NQF level 6). Preferably IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering.

EXPERIENCE

• 5 years solid development experience as a developer using predominantly Java (Senior). Telecommunications experience advantageous. TM Forum API and Process understanding advantageous. Technical/ Systems design experience would be an advantage
• Knowledge and experience of enterprise middleware technologies with specific focus on RedHat JBoss ESB. Proven track record of project delivery on Java based applications. Solid experience building and integrating applications. The ability to build applications within an enterprise environment. Understanding of software development cycles and quality assurance processes. Hands on experience in designing, developing and implementing applications using Java EE platforms. Custom module and API development. Great OO skills, including strong design patterns knowledge. Microservices development and container deployment experience. Experience in an Agile and Scrum environment..
