Specialist Systems Programmer (z/OS)

Purpose of the job
- To support, install, maintain, software products in various environments to ensure continuous service to clients.
Key Responsibility Areas
- To plan and implement for infrastructure Preparation to ensure functional mainframe server
- To manage and administer operating systems, software and 3rd party software to ensure functional operating system
- To provide user support to clients to ensure customer satisfaction
- To provide input into the units monthly and quartely reports regarding mainframe usage.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum: 3 year Diploma / Degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology or equivalent/ NQF level 6.
- Experience : 3 -5 years working experience in System Programming (Mainframe systems).
Technical Competencies Description
Knowledge of:
- Z/OS, Z/LINUX, Z/VM and other software tools i.e. BMC, CA etc. IT hardware and software. The incumbent is required to consult and interact with clients and work on standby.
- Skills: Hosting Management.
