    Specialist: Vodacom World Marketing

    Role purpose:

    • The Vodacom World marketing role is an active hands-on role that supports, coordinates and delivers activities related to Insights/Activations and Digial Content Support. 
    • Co-ordinate and deliver all Insights and Marketing related activities for Vodacom World.
    • Ways of working: A VW Markting specialist can expect to receive a marketing related brief for content / activation / launch / communication and deliver on the brief end-to-end – i.e deliver independently within the team. Given the nature of this environment the team will also need to deliver collectively to ensure agile ways of working are deployed to deliver on specific briefs / requirements. Often cross collaboration with other Makreting and Communications stakeholders will be required.
    • Perform or work with the Insights team on all research and insight initiatives for Vodacom World and deliver recommendations of additional revenue driving, product and marketing opportunities.
    • To deliver against the segmented marketing and communication strategy.
    • Participation, Development and/or editorial of all content required to support Vodacom World communication platforms (Digital displays and POS).
    • Create and edit content across platforms and align with “in-store executions” – digital and physical - Actively ensure that the Vodacom World online presence and social platforms are monitored and maintained.
    • Particpate in, deliver on and drive the annual marketing calendar for Vodacom World 
    • Integrate marketing opportunities across the end-to-end customer journey – pre, during and post visit inclusive of optimizing omni channel.
    • Monitoring and tracking of customer behaviour and insights to inform future initiatives as well as product development/improvement with the Segment and Product teams. 
    • Active participation on the Mall floor to support and educate team members on content executions and/or specific activations or launches.
    • Digital at the core, Innovation and Change – Proactive participation, and effective marketing related delivery of all digital transformation initiatives and partner showcases - As Vodacom’s Flagship retail experience ensure best in class digital capabilities and retail innovation leading test and learn opportunities through effective promotional execution, participation and feedback to determine viability of extending new opportunities to Vodacom’s retail propositions.
    • Training – deliver content and/or facilitate learning sessions as required to empower the front line with information on campaigns that will drive sales.
    • Ensure compliance to all brand standards - administrative aspects of shift clearance standards – biometric time and attendance, uniforms, grooming to represent the brand – participate actively in PRE SHIFT checks of all staff and ensure that standards are met and/or corrective actions are taken prior to team members being allowed to enter the front of house.
    • Manage the full uniform policy, procedure, dress code and brand standard for the mall – ensure that standard unirforms including name badges are designed and delivered and adhoc requirements linked to launches are facilitated with all stakeholders (i.e. issue to FOH team prior to the start of their shift)
    • Work with Centre Management team and other FOH stakeholders to plan and manage stock for Vodacom World marketing and promotional activities.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Vodacom World Brand

    • Positioning Vodacom World as a flagship experience that delivers on best in class retail and customer care experience.
    • Supporting ambition of becoming a destination of choice for digital and technology experiences and empowerment of a connected society.
    • Be the custodian of the Vodacom World Brand ensuring compliance with all Brand standards through various activations and executions.
    • Manage all Brand standards - administrative aspects of shift clearance standards – biometric time and attendance, uniforms, grooming to represent the brand

    Insights

    • Collaborate in customer-based research with Insights, Brand Comms and Product teams.
    • Bring together data from primary research, customer database systems and other data intelligence systems to provide timely and accurate market and customer information which informs Marketing Communication / CRM activities and wider business decisions.
    • To leverage research and insights to develop marketing and communication plans with the objective of driving sales and supporting positioning ambitions. 
    • Identify trends and insights, and optimise spend and performance based on insights.
    • To direct efforts with Marketing and Communications teams to define propositions and develop associated roadmaps and execution plans.
    • To keep abreast of trends and ensure Vodacom World’s marketing and communications strategy remains relevant and up-to-date with global best practice.

    Sales and Marketing

    • Recommend, support, deliver and drive the execution of centre marketing plans and strategy for the year ahead.
    • Support all sales initiatives to create awareness, differentiated offerings, increase foot traffic, energise our customers and generate revenue for the Centre.
    • Measure and report performance of all marketing campaigns, and assess against goals (ROI & KPIs)
    • Work with Vodacom Marketing team to:
    • Design, build and maintain social media presence.
    • Manage and update all online content for Vodacom World
    • Oversee and provide approvals where needed for  Vodacom World Radio , in-mall posters, billboard adverts, social media and related content.
    • Partner with corporate communications and marketing to ensure adherence to company standards and Corporate Identity
    • Work with Centre Management team to ensure that there is sufficient promotional stock on hand and strategically making decisions as to what additional stock should be ordered when it runs low.  
    • Work with Vodacom Segment Marketing and Brand Communications on development of go-to-market plans for Vodacom World offers based on segment needs.
    • To manage marketing promotional items – end to end: selecting, ordering, managing budgets per the direction and approval of various stakeholders.
    • Particpate in the process of working with Centre Management and Stores/Tenants to formulate and drive a holistic sales and marketing strategy with various stakeholders – CBU, terminals, tenants and internal marketing to ensure all sales targets are achieved Vodacom World is an experiential destination of choice.
    • Liaise with terminals and internal stakeholders on new device roll outs, launches and various marketing initiatives.

    Relationships

    • To build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business to ensure that Vodacom World is top of mind for all new initiatives and is given the right level of priority.
    • Collaborate with agencies and other vendor partners as required.

    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    • A relevant 3-year diploma or degree in marketing or equivalent is essential
    • Minimum of 2 years experience within Marketing/ Strategy / PR / Communications or relevant environment - essential 
    • Experience in Digital/Social (SEO/SEM) marketing and collaborating in this space with other business partners an advantage
    • Exposure to digitally lead retail solutions, omni channel, and/or other digital customer interfacing platforms will be highly beneficial. 
    • Exposure to project management will be highly beneficial

    OR

    • Matric or SAQA accredited equivalent – essential 
    • Relevant courses/certificates will be an advantage 
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience within Marketing/ Strategy/PR/Communications or relevant environment - essential
    • Experience in Digital/Social (SEO/SEM) marketing and collaborating in this space with other business partners essential
    • Exposure to digitally lead retail solutions, omni channel, and/or other digital customer interfacing platforms will be highly beneficial. 
    • Exposure to project management will be highly beneficial
