To support the Maintenance Manager in managing and leading an Emergency Management Maintenance team.
Controlling statutory maintenance work as per legal requirements by ensuring all equipment is serviced as per schedule and equipment due for hydro static testing is brought to the workshop in time.
Ensure timeous and effective response to emergency incidents when on standby or as required.
Leading the maintenance team during emergency incidents while under the guidance of the fire ground officer emergency management.
Implement operational and applicable legal requirements and processes in support of Emergency Management and Sasol's strategic objectives.
Key Accountabilities
Ensuring that all servicing of all portable firefighting equipment in plants and buildings are conducted annually.
Ensuring the reconditioning of firefighting and life support / loan equipment.
Ensuring DC and SCBA workshops are compliant to the relevant legislation.
Ensuring that all statutory maintenance work as per legal requirements.
Ensuring that all equipment is serviced as per schedule and equipment due for hydro static testing is brought to the workshop in time.
Ensure emergency response and mitigation activities are performed in accordance with SLC’s.
Develop and implement Emergency Management Maintenance strategy and operating model.
Ensure site compliance to relevant legislative safety and emergency standards, practices and certification.
Provide direct input into new projects, developments, or changes to existing ways of work relating to own portfolio of services.
Provide and manage Emergency Services
Ensure site compliance to relevant legislative standards, practices, and certification.
Manage technical specifications and standards applicable to EM Maintenance department for safekeeping and communication.
Ensure delivery of agreed personal and Emergency Management KPI’s
Ensure effective and timely delivery of in-house mutual agreements to different divisions of EM
Provide Operational Emergency Management inputs to plants and business units when required.
Ensure compliance to ISO standards (safety, document management, quality assurance)
Formal Education
National Diploma in Fire Technology or equivalent and 06+ relevant years fire service experience.
Or
Completed 2nd year of studies towards Diploma in fire technology (statement of results to be produced) and currently enrolled for 3rd year (Diploma NQF6) with min 07 years’ relevant experience in the fire service (proof of registration for 3rd year to be produced).
