    Stewardship and Donor Relations Manager

    Job Purpose

    The purpose of this position is threefold:

    • To provide immersive, exclusive, once-in-a-lifetime nature experiences to existing and potential high net worth individuals and corporates with the aim to expand and diversify the company’s donor base. The Stewardship and Donor Relations Manager develops and supports meaningful and impactful conservation experiences, by organizing and leading privately guided, behind-the-scenes wilderness experiences in the parks and wilderness areas where the company works
    • To engage, develop and maintain relationships with high-net-worth individuals, corporate and other donors and nurture their support for the work of the company
    • To identify and develop immersive and unique tourism products that could be developed within the company ecosystem that could augment the existing tourism facilities and experiences.

    Requirements

    • A degree or equivalent qualification in natural or social sciences, tourism or similar.
    • A minimum of ten years’ experience in conservation, wildlife tourism and/or fundraising with extensive knowledge of African wildlife.
    • Experience in managing a philanthropist portfolio of partnerships, including project proposal development, with a proven ability to present work in a compelling way that resonates with these audiences and articulates the mutual benefits of prospective partnerships.
    • A deep understanding of global biodiversity, climate change and/or sustainable development issues.
    • Capable in cultivating strong relationships with existing and prospective partners in a way that communicates values and builds potential for long term support.
    • Full understanding of fundraising best practices, discreet and a track record in successful fundraising.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication and writing skills (English).
    • The ability to collate information from disparate sources to provide timely and impactful donor reports, which requires an ability to build relationships with staff in remote areas.
    • An ability to work under pressure and honour deadlines.
    • An ability to travel as required.

    Advantageous:

    • Experience and ability to manage donor events.
    • Additional languages (Dutch, German, French, Spanish).
    • Affinity with photography, videography, marketing tools and social media.
