A 4-year relevant qualification in the natural/mathematical sciences
5-8 years relevant experience in information management/data science/Data engineering/Computer Science of which 3-4 years ideally within the strategic planning function.
Data mining and predictive data modelling.
Advanced excel proficiency.

Summary of Duties:
Provide high quality data analysis to turn data into information to support the University in its strategic management, planning and decision-making requirements.
Builds models to gather and analyse data to highlight strategic insights to assist with making key strategic decisions.
Develop modelling eg forecasting models to discover trends, opportunities and threats based on the available university data to shape strategic intelligence for decision making.
Draw insights from internal and external data sources/reports and disseminate timely, accurate and relevant reports and dashboards to stakeholders.
Work with IPME IR, Planning and MEL team to identify opportunities for leveraging institutional data to drive business solutions.
Monitor institutional performance against strategic goals as presented in the strategic plan and Annual Performance Plan (APP) and Extended Annual Performance Plan (EAPP).
Provide strategic data support to all relevant committees and data analytics for any ad hoc request.
Responsible for the running of data integrity tests and reports on sources of data in order to determine any limitations in terms of reliability or usability.
Capture and organize data to track strategy implementation progress across all levels of DUT.
Formats and restructures data for reports and designs and presents management information reports (data and narrative; data visualizations; dashboards; presentations, etc) on DUT’s operational and strategic performance for internal and external stakeholders, where such reports maybe investigative, ad-hoc and compliance reports to assist in enhancing learning for decision-making.
Deliver reports and presentations of findings to the university community and external stakeholders in a way that can be easily understood by diverse background people.
