The role:

Junior Science teacher to teach Biology, Chemistry & Physics, preparing students for IGCSE Science courses.
Any applicants contracted with Valenture will need to start their new position as soon as possible. Applicants do not have to be based in Cape Town.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree,
• PGCE, B.Ed or other accepted teaching qualification,
• 3 years teaching experience at high school level, and
• SACE registration, police clearance and good references
• Candidates with Cambridge / Edexcel curriculum experience will be preferred
• Grade the weekly submission of assignments
• Develop content for the Junior High Science course, in all three disciplines
• Attend all relevant meetings
• Meet the expected deadlines
• Attend live lessons as required

Personal Skills & Attributes

• Knowledge and understanding of the content of the Junior High Science course based on the UK Curriculum. Understanding of the assessment approaches used in a UK curriculum. Teaching experience in the sciences. Teaching in the UK curriculum would be an advantage. Ability to work to deadlines. Attention to detail.
